In my classes we move through an Ashtanga- inspired flow. We create heat in the body as we travel through sun salutations and standing postures, focusing on alignment and stability. We work towards building strength and finding flexibility, while maintaining focus on the breath. Energetics and the spiritual are woven throughout the class, and the class becomes both physical and subtle. ALL LEVELS are welcome, the yoga meets you where you are! Modifications are encouraged, as are add-ons. This is a practice, and we remind ourselves not to take the yoga so seriously. Let's have some fun! See you on the mat!
Phoebe Sherman, 500 RYT
Phoebe Sherman discovered yoga at a time when she needed it most. As a dancer and a perfectionist, yoga spoke to her more free-spirited side. Since then, she has been a little more calm, and a little less antsy. She began a daily practice in Santa Cruz in 2011 at a beautiful studio that combined a hard cardio practice with thedivine spiritual. Since then she has molded her own classes with that mentality–molding the physical with the divine. She completed her 200 hour TeacherTraining with Yoga to the People in 2013, and her 300hr in Goa, India in 2016 with Tribe Yoga. She has been teaching all over the Bay Area since 2013. She practices Mysore, but dabbles in the Rocket. While practicing with her you can anticipate the discipline of Ashtanga, but the spirit of the Rocket. Her classes emphasize alignment and breath, allowing students to build strength and find flexibility. In her classes you can expect to work to your own personal edge, leaving sweaty and a little less antsy.
